My inspirations

Everyone has a favorite cookbook, or some of us may have several. Even though it's easy and quick to look up a recipe nowadays on the internet, there is nothing like getting lost in a good old fashioned cookbook, especially one with the most gorgeous pictures.

I highly recommend Bouchon Bakery to my fellow gourmet bakers, as well as beginners. The beautiful photographs and the perfectly written recipes will truly inspire you! The book is elegant and rustic at the same time, and the recipes are uncomplicated and easy to follow.

Once I start baking from this book, it is impossible to stop! It is fun and incredibly satisfying!

Bouchon Bakery has a wonderful collection of French and American classics. I have mastered some of their recipes, and use a couple of them with my own twist at Zserbó.

The book is organized by divider categories including Cookies, Scones & Muffins, Cakes, Tarts, Pate A Choux, Brioche & Donuts, Puff Pastry and Croissants, Breads, Confections & Basics.

I received Bouchon Bakery by Thomas Keller and Sebastien Rouxel as a Christmas gift several years ago from my good friend Pauline Browne. Those of you who have the pleasure of knowing Pauline, she is one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to culinary arts. She is the most amazing and most enthusiastic cook. We can talk for hours and hours about food. I will never forget our food trips to Savannah, New Orleans, the food festivals

and cooking classes, and all our supper clubs and dinner adventures. I am forever grateful for not only her friendship, but her honest and constructive criticism when it comes to my baking. Not only has she inspired me to start my own business but has been my mentor all along. She always has the best advice and is always willing to share her knowledge and skills.

Thank you for the wonderful read and for all you have done Pauline!
